Perhaps more than ever, a progressive, forward-thinking board is essential to effective credit union governance and leadership if we wish to continue to be of value to our members and grow as an industry. The New Jersey Credit Union League developed a group for directors and volunteers to work together and address issues facing volunteers today, the NJ Director and Volunteer Networking Alliance, or NJ DNA. NJ DNA provides credit union directors and volunteers a forum to meet, network and ensure they meet current and future challenges head on by:

  • Networking and sharing diverse experiences
  • Staying abreast of current issues and trends
  • Providing a forum to pose tough questions to your peers
  • Establishing a platform to provide a unified voice to address proposed regulation and legislation form a director's perspective
  • Fostering independence from routine reliance on management's feedback and recommendations
  • Sharing best practices and access to a variety of leadership strategies
  • Providing NJCUL with valuable, first-hand feedback on volunteers' needs for financial, legislative and compliance education, as well as industry advocacy
