As this school year comes to a close, New Jersey credit unions are celebrating the success of six Financial Reality Fairs held at high schools across the state - with one more scheduled for next week - bringing financial literacy to around 800 students in total. With summer upon us, we'd like to begin planning for another great round of Fairs for the 2011/2012 school year.
If you'd like to be involved the Reality Fairs program this coming school year, please join us for a Reality Fairs Planning/Discussion Meeting at the League office on Thursday, June 2nd at 11 a.m. We'll take this time to review the Fairs we've conducted over the past school year and begin planning for the 2011/2012 school year.
The meeting is open to anyone interested in the Reality Fairs program, whether they want to plan a Fair with a local school, volunteer for a Fair, get involved in the planning process, or just want more information. It is not closed off to only those who have participated previously.
Prior to the meeting, we ask those that have volunteered for Fairs in the past to take a few minutes to fill out a brief online survey on their experience as a volunteer. The survey can be found at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RealityFairVolunteer.
Please RSVP with the names of all attendees from your credit union to Marissa Anema via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone at 800-792-8861 ext. 117.
For those of you who volunteered this past school year, thanks so much, and for those planning to attend the meeting and help out next year, thanks in advance!
