DESCRIPTION:What is enterprise risk management (ERM)? Why is it critical fo
 r good corporate governance and management of financial institutions? Why 
 must the credit union industry move aggressively to understand and adopt t

  Kennedy\, Jr. &amp\; Dub Sutherland\, Kennedy Sutherland LLP Patrick Kenn
 edy is a managing partner in the law firm of Kennedy Sutherland LLP. Pat a
 nd his firm specialize in representing financial institutions on corporate
 \, securities\, and regulatory matters. He served as Chair of the Internat
 ional Law Section of the State Bar of Texas\, Chair of the World Affairs C
 ouncil of San Antonio\, Chair of the Retail and Consumer Banking Law Subco
 mmittee of the American Bar Association and as a board member of the Indep
 endent Bankers Association of Texas. Pat has chaired a number of professio
 nal conferences on international and financial institution law and is a fr
 equent author and lecturer on these subjects. Pat obtained a Bachelor’s fr
 om Georgetown University in 1975 and a JD from St. Mary’s University Schoo
 l of Law in 1978. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas. William “Dub” 
 Sutherland is a partner at Kennedy Sutherland LLP\, where his focus is pro
 viding guidance to financial institutions in strategic and succession plan
 ning\, management and management structure\, and improving risk-management
  practices. Dub has spent most of his career in executive management in th
 e banking and manufacturing industries. He continues to focus on risk mana
 gement and management theory and the practical application of these theori
 es in the financial services industry. Dub is member of the American Bar A
 ssociation\, Banking Law Committee\, and the State Bar of Texas. He receiv
 ed a Bachelor’s. in Government from The University of Texas at Austin in 2
