BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Northern Chapter held its first meeting of the New Year on Wednesday night at the Bella Napoli Restaurant in Bloomfield, N.J.
NJCUL Director of Compliance Nicola Foggie gives a compliance update.
Chapter President Tom Quigley kicked off the meeting. Quigley then took time to speak about Calvin Jackson, former St. James A.M.E. FCU and NJCUL director who passed away this past weekend. Jackson was the President of Essex/West-Hudson during his time in the credit union industry. The chapter held a moment of silence at the meeting in Jackson’s honor.

NJCUL Manager of Special Events/Meeting Planner Yvette Segarra was on hand to promote the upcoming Reality Check conference and NJCUL’s 25th Anniversary Golf Tournament. Two larger credit unions, Garden Savings FCU and XCEL FCU, awarded two sponsorships for Reality Check registrations to smaller credit unions at the meeting. Garden Savings FCU’s sponsorship was awarded to Edward C. Powell of Messiah Baptist Church CU and XCEL FCU’s sponsorship was awarded to Cedric McPherson, Newark Post Office CU. Both were very excited to be able to attend the conference free of charge and were grateful to the larger credit unions for their generous sponsorships.
