VINELAND, N.J. - New Jersey credit unions brought the Financial Reality Fairs program to its first South Jersey location on Wednesday, May 4th. Pineland Learning Center in Vineland played host to the sixth and final Reality Fair of the 2010/2011 school year.

Students of Pineland Learning Center took part in the Fair as well as some students that were bussed in from the nearby Success School. Around 50 students in total experienced the Reality Fair, stopping by the 14 booths to figure out living situations, finance a car and furniture, and make some fun purchases - like concert tickets and iPhones.
A total of 30 credit union volunteers manned the booths at the Fair, some coming all the way from North Jersey to participate. The Fair was offered to Pineland Learning Center at no cost to the school due to the hard work of New Jersey credit unions, including Bay Atlantic FCU, who organized the Fair.

With the success of the Reality Fairs held this school year - reaching almost 800 students across the state - plans are in the works to continue bringing this fun and interactive program to high schools during the 2011/2012 school year. NJCUL is holding a Reality Fairs Planning/Discussion Meeting on Thursday, June 2nd, where we'll review the Fairs we've conducted over the past school year and begin planning for the 2011/2012 school year.
The meeting is open to anyone interested in the Reality Fairs program, whether they want to plan a Fair with a local school, volunteer for a Fair, get involved in the planning process, or just want more information. It is not closed off to only those who have participated previously.
Please RSVP with the names of all attendees from your credit union to Marissa Anema via e-mail at email@example.com or phone at 800-792- 8861 ext. 117.
