Deadline for the first quarter submissions is March 15. Can’t pull things together by then? Later deadlines for second, third and fourth quarter grants are also listed on the forms.
7. Invest in CIF, Promote Financial Literacy – (http://www.njcul.org/creditunions/foundation.asp) The Community Investment Fund is a great way to help the New Jersey Credit Union Foundation and the National Credit Union Foundation, with no out of pocket expenses for your credit union. Invest in CIF – through your corporate credit union – and the interest on your investment will be divided among NCUF and NJCUF. The original investment will be returned to the credit union when the term is done. Don’t delay, NCUF and NJCUF need your support.
8. Tips for 990’s – (www.state.nj.us/dobi)
- The NJ Division of Banking advises that it files on behalf of all New Jersey state chartered credit unions a consolidated return on Form 990 with the IRS.
- Years ago a letter to that effect would be sent to all state charted credit unions.
- The Division of Banking continues to file the consolidated Form 990, but no longer sends the advisory letter.
- Questions and/or written confirmation requests should be referred to Managing Examiner Bill Blunt in the Office of Consumer Finance. He can be reached at 609-292-7272, ext. 50208 or bblunt@dobi.state.nj.us
