NJ Credit Unions Sponsor ELC Dinner—Corzine and Christie Make Appearance

PRINCETON, NJ -- New Jersey’s credit unions were the sponsor of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association Employer Legislative Committee’s 50th Anniversary Dinner where incumbent Governor Jon Corzine and Republican challenger Chris Christie made their first joint appearance of the general election campaign.
New Jersey Credit Union League President/CEO Paul Gentile had the honor of chairing the event and presiding over the evening’s program. Gentile introduced both Corzine and Christie and was able to brief the crowd on New Jersey’s 215 credit unions and their more than 1.2 million members.
“This was a great opportunity for us to get the credit union message in front of key lawmakers, business leaders and members of the media. I am so proud of how this event turned out and that credit unions could be a part of such a major political event,” said Gentile.
Nearly 40 credit union leaders were on hand for what proved a high profile event which showcased the determination of New Jersey’s credit unions to play a significant role in the state’s public policy process.
