MADISON, Wis. - At the recent CUNA Board meeting, New Jersey Credit Union League President/CEO Paul Gentile was elected to a three-year term on the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) Board.

Gentile, a CUNA Board member, was elected in February of this year to fill an unexpired term, which was to expire December of 2011, and had indicated that he would like to continue serving on the Foundation Board for a full three-year term. His new term will begin January 2012 and will expire December of 2015.

As the charitable arm of the credit union movement, the Foundation leverages charitable contributions to fund projects that support industry-wide development initiatives, including consumer financial literacy and education, asset accumulation programs such as support for mortgage assistance programs for low-income people, and strengthening the national credit union movement to improve access to affordable financial services for all consumers.

The NCUF Board consists of 13 voting members, of which three are representatives of CUNA.
