DOBI Commissioner Steps Down, Replacement Nominated

TRENTON, N.J. – Governor Christie yesterday announced that Tom Considine is stepping down as head of the state's Department of Banking & Insurance (DOBI). The governor has nominated Ken Kobylowski as his replacement.

Considine will leave effective February 10.

Kobylowski joined DOBI as chief of staff in February 2010 and took on the additional role as Acting Director of Banking in October 2011. He has been responsible for all legislative, regulatory, operational, and administrative matters according to the governor’s media advisory.

Prior to joining DOBI, Kobylowski was in private law practice for 20 years. He began his professional career as a bank analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Kobylowski’s nomination is subject to confirmed by the state Senate.
