MADISON, Wis. – CUNA has released a 3rd quarter report to its network of 44 state and regional leagues, with more than 6,000 of America’s credit unions as members, titled “Membership @ Work”. Membership @ Work is an overview of the activities and actions funded by your investment in the League and CUNA System.
The report outlines how CUNA, with the support of its members, has given back to its membership in terms of legislative and political advocacy; regulatory relief and advocacy; news, professional development, and strategy tools; consumer awareness; and much more. The report breaks down CUNA’s efforts with tangible numbers and data, illustrating how it has put your membership to work for you.
For example, CUNA sponsored an event on Capitol Hill that focused on credit union member business lending. Live streamed by The Hill newspaper, the event featured a "who’s who" in Washington, D.C. and drew nearly 160 MBL advocates, 60 of whom were Congressional staffers.
Also, at the invitation of CFPB Director Cordray, CUNA has organized two working groups that will meet with Director Cordray in October on remittances and on mortgage-related issues.
The report also breaks down how CUNA and the leagues used media outreach, social media strategies, and more to raise consumers’ awareness about credit unions and grow credit union membership.
