WASHINGTON – Having assumed office less than two weeks ago, Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. (D-10) today added his name as a co-sponsor to the Small Business Lending Enhancement Act (H.R. 1418). Payne was elected earlier this month to fill the unexpired term of his late father, and to a full term beginning when the new Congress convenes in January.
Seven out of NJ’s 13-member House delegation have now added their name to the bill. The House bill now has 143 co-sponsors while the Senate bill has 21.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has promised a Senate vote before year’s end. House action is expected immediately following the Senate vote.
