Assistant Vice President, Information Systems

This individual will be involved in project management, lead multiple technology initiatives, and provide direction on Technology Strategies. • Provide leadership and develop staff on core and IT functions.
• Responsible for procuring, installing, and maintaining all computer hardware and software and other products and supplies necessary to keep computer systems operable and provide systems support.
• Manage core system administration including reporting, problem solution, system updates, system authorizations, testing, system maintenance and enhancements, etc.
• Install and maintain phone systems to operate efficiently for telecommunications in all aspects.
• Develop and maintain department budget.
• Maintain back-up systems to insure that records can be reconstructed in the event of destruction or loss of current operating files.
• Develop and maintain an information security program compliant with laws.
Maintain the technology plan for CUNJ.


Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science is required.
• 5+ years of technical experience, plus a minimum of 2 years of management experience in a technical environment.
• Experience in a Credit Union or Bank and working with a core processing system.
• Must be analytical, good communicator, possess excellent member service skills, and be organized.

Title: Member Service Representative
Reports to: Manager

Purpose: Serves as a liaison between the member and the credit union. Responsible for providing account information, opening new accounts, and professionally handling member’s credit union needs. Provides a variety of transaction services to members.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Represents the Credit Union to the members in a courteous and professional manor and provides prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of transactions
2. Perform routine transactions, including but not limited to opening accounts, issuing checks, Certificates of deposit, processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and transfers, check cashing, selling stamps, movie tickets, money orders and gift checks.
3. Provide in person and by telephone, general and specific service related information concerning credit union services or policies

5. Open new accounts and service existing accounts, Set up new account files and provide members with all the necessary information for membership.
6. Handle requests from members for transfers of share to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, lines of credit advances, and any other request received from members.
7. Process member mail transactions
8. Mail receipts and checks to members as indicated by policy and procedures.
9. Conduct orientation interviews on credit union services and programs with each new member.
10. Research accounts for deposit, withdrawal, and loan payment discrepancies.
11. Assist members in balancing their accounts
12. Research and resolve member account problems
13. Assist members with the proper completion of payroll deductions and put changes in the computer. Post and prove payrolls bi-weekly
14. Responsible for issuing and balancing money orders, gift checks, and credit union checks on a daily basis. Also responsible for activity reporting and remittance.
15. Process transactions received through the night depository box.
16. Post necessary entries to the GL to balance daily.
17. Check each loan application to make sure it is complete, run credit check and do credit profile before it is submitted to loan officer.
18. Process and distribute loans to member after approved.
19. Required to travel to Manahawkin to service their membership.
20. Any other projects/ duties as assigned by manager

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years experience with heavy client/ customer service background. Some general accounting knowledge, CRT input and computer knowledge (excel, word, etc.) a plus. Must be familiar with general office equipment.

Accounting Clerk

General Summary:

Performs bookkeeping and clerical tasks on a daily basis and provides general and clerical support to the AVP of Accounting and the Department. Responsible for backing up the Payroll Deduction function, Direct Deposit and Check Processing functions pertaining to member accounts from sponsors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for obtaining balances in Credit Union accounts daily and calculating the required wire transfers between accounts to ensure availability of funds.

• Post and/or adjust entries to the general ledger and reconcile bank accounts monthly
• Responsible for month-end reconciliation of Management Stats

• Perform problem resolution with members accounts

• Follow-up on missing documents and/or clarify instructions for deposits
• Assist in all other areas of the accounting department as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 6 to 12 months related experience.
• An understanding of basic accounting principles
• Analytical ability to resolve balancing in all phases of the position
• Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Branch Manager

Credit Union of New Jersey has a Branch Manager position available in Willingboro, NJ. The primary purpose of this position is to deliver exceptional service in managing, directing, and administering the operations and business development efforts of a credit union branch office that offers a full range of services to current internal and external members and potential members. Outreach efforts and business development will also be a focus of this management position.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinates deposit, lending and member services functions in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the AVP of Member Services and/or Chief Operations Officer.

• Develops plans and schedules for the efficient use of materials, machines, technological equipment ad employees resulting in outstanding service-delivery.

* Reviews production costs and processes related to depositing, lending, transaction accounts as well as product quality, and modifies production and service delivery control to maintain and enhance profitable operation of branch.

* Tracks and evaluates the progress of employee and branch cross selling biweekly and provides monthly reports to the AVP of Member Services. Cross selling is defined as informing members of the products the CU has available for their benefit and encouraging the member to take advantage of the financial opportunities that these products offer. Coaching should be provided according to procedures outlined.

* Returns all member phone calls in 24 hours and ensures that the staff maintains the same practice.

* Directs preparation of appropriate branch accounting records. Recommends budgets to management relative to the physical, human resource, and other costs of the branch operation.

* Uses and encourages all staff to use the product manual. Ensures all branch product manuals are updated when revisions are done.

* Evaluates work of employees, conducts performance appraisals, recommends promotions, reassignments, the hiring of new employees, and related personnel functions. Provides training and assistance to employees to ensure efficient and effective delivery of member services. Reviews all letters and correspondence sent to members by the employees.

* Ensures that the Branch image is favorable, reflecting a sound and secure financial institution that employees prudent housekeeping procedures, safety measures, and provides a pleasant atmosphere for members, including privacy, confidentiality, and ease of use.

* Ensures that the Branch has updated loan rates posted. All displayed marketing materials in the branch are up to date. All holiday signs are posted in the appropriate locations one week prior to the holiday and taken down promptly after the holiday.

* Assists in development of new business by working directly with members and representatives of associated groups (i.e., SEG’s) to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area. Attends new SEG visits if needed and continues working with the SEG’s to increase account relationship and new business development.

* Provides business development insights on marketing campaigns and promotions of competing organizations to gain market share.

* Reviews and is responsible for branch security procedures and practices must conform to standards which protect the credit union’s employees, members, and assets at all times.

* Performs Financial Service Representative and Teller duties when required, and other branch management duties as may be delegated by the AVP of Member Services and/or Chief Operations Officer.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Loan Closer/Funder

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform an initial evaluation of member applications to determine if the application meets required standards of creditworthiness and purpose, and conforms to the requirements of NCUA regulations and Credit Union policies.
• Collect information including verifications of membership, income documents, credit reports and, as applicable to the type of loan: property valuations, property searches, flood searches, and evidence of hazard insurance. Verify and/or obtain member application information and enter all information into loan origination system.
• Respond to members’ questions throughout the process. Explain the loan process to include loan policies, interest rates, loan options, insurance required on credit union loan products, pay offs, etc.
• Distribute closing packages to branches, closing agents or to members for execution. Follow up on closing package if not returned within specified period. Review returned closing package to ensure members signed all pertinent instruments.
• Fund loans and Book onto host system, applying closing funds to appropriate general ledger accounts and setting up escrow account.
• Assure loans are closed and funded in accordance with applicable Federal/State laws and compliance regulations.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Financial Services Consultants

The Financial Sales Consultant position requires a high-energy, out-going, sales-motivated individual to build business, by selling credit union products and services to members and non-members. Actively solicit new business from members and potential members at the branches through consultative selling, outbound calls, and inbound responses to direct marketing promotions.

Responsibilities:

• Originates consumer and real estate loans by interviewing applicants. Explains loan options, rates and collateral requirements to members. Gathers required information to base a decision as the loan expert or for presentation to underwriters if needed.
• Capable of analyzing account information and loan applications to add-on additional credit union products and services to deepen member relationships.
• Handles outbound calls to select members to offer products and services to meet their needs and deepen their relationship with the Credit Union.
• Answers member phone requests and/or questions in response to direct marketing promotions.
• Explains rates, options and terms in response to marketing promotions.

Requirements:
Consultative retail sales experience.
Must enjoy helping people and have strong interpersonal skills.
Lending experience within the credit union or banking industry preferred but not required.

Summary:
This individual will be responsible for performing all the credit union's Data processing needs to include daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly processing. This position is responsible for all batch processing, report distribution, peripherals, interrelated system maintenance and uptime, and ongoing development of processes and procedures and must take ownership of such.  This individual also assists and responds to helpdesk requests, assists in maintaining and responding to issues concerning the PBX system, and participates in special projects such as Service Pack updates for core system. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning, design, development, and support of new products and services. Assists with project management.
• Meet with IT Director, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
• Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house Data-Safe systems.
• Review and analyze the effectiveness of existing parameters and tables to ensure configurations match the Credit Union current strategies.
• Create queries, reports, new database development and/or changes to existing ones.
• Run month end reports and assist with month end closing
• Provide training to end users for all modified and new systems.
• Covers for helpdesk issues when necessary
• May need to be on call after hours
• May get involved in project management
• Assist in training new IT hires

Working Conditions:
Generally very good. Little discomfort caused by such factors as noise, cold and heat. Physical demands of the job involve light to heavy work such as exerting up to 30 pounds of force to occasionally move objects. Requires prolonged periods of sitting. Requires walking, standing, bending, reaching above ones head, and kneeling to obtain access to wires under desks.

Senior Lending Officer

A small local Credit Union located in Cumberland County, N.J., is looking for an experienced Senior Lending Officer. They will ensure quality and profitable growth of the Credit Union’s loan portfolio. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and achieving annual goals and objectives as established in the Credit Union’s budget and strategic plan, as well as ensuring compliance with credit policies and procedures including BSA.


Other Responsibilities:
• Maintain knowledge, communicate changes, and ensure operational integrity of all policies and procedures – including regulatory requirements.

• Originate, review and approve loan applications; review approved loans for possible up sell and denied loans for possible counteroffer and completed loans for completeness of documentation.
• Collaborate with the members of the CU management team to identify and implement process, technology, and service improvements.
• Other functions include but are not limited to: completing and processing loan applications, contacting customers for late payments
• Is integral to the In-House Loan Processing Function:
• Maintain an efficient and friendly work environment, assuring that communications between the processing department and other company departments are productive and positive in nature.
