A non-affiliated credit union, employee and/or member may post a position or resume for a $25 fee. In addition, this category may include the general public, in state or out of state, interested in employment within the credit union movement.

Ads will run for three months, on our website (www.njcul.org). (If you wish to have your ad run for more than three months, you must resubmit it.) All posting requests must include a contact name and phone number for submission verification.

A not for profit full service institution with over $180M in assets, 4 branches and over 15,000 members.

Controller
Lead and managed the daily activities including, but not limited to general ledger, annual budgeting, AP/AR, external audit, monthly closing, system improvements, regulatory reporting, investment portfolio and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Supervised a staff of 3, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer with a budget of $125K.

  • Reorganized an Accounting Department that was put on probation with a Camel 4 rating from the NCUA for poor record keeping prior to my arrival. Resolved bookkeeping issues within 7 months which resulted in a Camel 2 audit rating.
  • Devised a Non-Interest Income report to track service fee income by type, volume and total dollar amount. This report identified NSF checks as our largest source of income. Management increased the NSF fee charge which resulted in $44,265.00 worth of additional income.
  • Defined Wire Transfer Policy and controls to eliminate the possibility of fraud, monetary loss and possible lawsuits. Implementation of controls has resulted in zero losses to date.
  • Implemented and completed the final application process to become a member of the FHLB. Increased future liquidity and borrowing needs by $25M.
  • Increased our current product offerings and usage of consumer products by instituting five new loan product types to launch our first ever Visa Platinum Debit and Credit Card Rewards Program. Debit Cards are up 185 active accounts with 1,924 transactions totaling $30K in purchases. Credit Cards are up 18 active accounts with 243 transactions totaling $134K in purchases.
  • Project manager that directed the activities of the management team (6) on the Payroll Project. Purpose of the project was to find a way to identify current ACH transactions which would allow Marketing & Business Development opportunities to contact current members and offer additional services. Completed the project 3 weeks ahead of schedule and generated a viable contact list of members for the Marketing department.

PROPONENT FEDERAL CREDIT UNION, (HLR FEDERAL CREDIT UNION) Nutley, N.J 1987 – 1999
A not for profit financial services provider with over $400M in assets and over 25,000 members.

Accountant (1992 – 1999)
Responsibilities included producing monthly Financial Reports for Senior Management and the Board of Directors. Reported to the Senior Accountant.

  • Organized the internal processing methods and posting of adjusting entries which resulted in completing the monthly Statement of Financial Condition and Statement of Income and Expense, Operating Expense Budget vs. Actual Report, Budget Overrun Report, Management Highlights, Year to Year Expense and Income Reports, Fee Income and Net Interest Margin to be distributed to Senior Management by the 5th working day of the month, a 3 day improvement.
  • Selected and directed the implementation of an integrated accounts payable and prepaid software package. Provided management with improved financial and expense reporting.
  • Designed an excel spreadsheet to track cash flow and funds availability for the daily operations of the organization. Settled daily cash position and invested excess in Overnight Federal Funds. Reconciled 7 bank accounts monthly.
