ABOUT THE PRESENTERS – Ethan Smith & Katie O’Brien, Starfield & Smith, PC
Ethan W. Smith is a partner in the law firm of Starfield & Smith, PC. His practice focuses on government guaranteed lending, commercial lending, banking, real estate and commercial law. Ethan is also a licensed title insurance agent for Chicago Title and Fidelity National Title in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. A member of the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL), Ethan is a frequent speaker and serves as a member of its Associate Member Committee. He is also an affiliate member of the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO) and is qualified as a designated closing attorney under the SBA 504 Program. From 2005-2010, Ethan was named a Pennsylvania “Rising Star” by Philadelphia Magazine and is rated as an “AV Preeminent” attorney by Martindale Hubbell. He earned his BA from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and a JD degree from the College of William and Mary School of Law.
Katie O’Brien is an associate in the law firm of Starfield & Smith, PC, where her practice areas include finance, real estate, contracts, and corporate law. She assists commercial lenders with loan documentation, closing issues, and drafting corporate and finance documents. In addition, she advises small businesses on regulatory and licensing matters at the state and federal levels, as well as corporate governance and transactional matters. Katie is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She obtained a Bachelor’s from Pennsylvania State University and a JD from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
